"I am absolutely over the moon with the outcome of my lens replacement surgery performed by Mr Ross. Both my left and right eye cataract extractions and multifocal lens implants were performed with no issues. I had been very fortunate with my eye sight until my early 50’s, only needing glasses from then on, and never really getting used to wearing them. Mr Ross was highly recommended to me by a friend who had had the same surgery by Mr Ross a year or so ago, and then the procedure was recommended as a ‘no brainer’ by a Norwegian friend who had had the same surgery a few years earlier in Norway. My vision is now 6/6 in both eyes, and N5 for near with the multi focal lens implants. Fantastic! "Having lens replacement in both eyes was something I had been thinking about for many years. I have worn varifocal glasses for about 20 years. Due to the nature of my work and my high anxiety about anything to do with eyes I wanted both eyes done at the same time under general anaesthetic. I understand this was unusual but having explained everything, including the risks involved, to me Mr Ross agreed. Unfortunately I contracted Covid shortly before my procedure was due to take place. It was postponed with no issues. I have had my new lenses now for 12 days and haven’t worn glasses since the op. A follow up appointment was arranged which confirmed everything was fine. "I had two eye cataract lense replacement surgeries done by Mr Ross. Both times the result was excellent. I chose multi-focal (PanOptix) lenses, giving me now distant, mid-range and near vision, no reading glasses required. Having worn glasses and contact lenses all my life this comes as a huge surprise to me, it truly is brilliant. Mr Ross is an expert in his field and it was a pleasure dealing with him. Nuffield hospital in Clifton, Bristol is a very welcoming and comfortable place, all appointments happened right on time. "I have had cataract surgery on both eyes at the Nuffield Hospital in Bristol. Adam Ross carried out the surgery. Both operations were successful and I now have excellent vision in both eyes. Given that I have worn glasses since I was 11 years old and am now in my seventies, the transformation resulting from the surgery has been extraordinary. I wish I had had the operation years ago. In addition to the result of the surgery, the entire experience was excellent. I am always interested in team performance and have some experience of performance improvement in a commercial context. Adam's team pre and post operation and in the theatre performed to a very high standard and their performance reflected very well on Adam and on the Nuffield Hospital. From the perspective of the patient lying on the table and having someone remove cataracts from. his eyes and fit new lens, Adam was technically excellent. Minimal pain and minimal discomfort - much less that I had anticipated. The results are (to use an overused word) brilliant. 20/20 vision in both eyes. I no longer' need glasses to read or to drive and my peripheral vision is light years above what it was. Do run with the varifocal lens if you can, it is amazing to have good eyesight after some sixty years. Quite transformative. With my wife I own and run holiday cottages on the Hartland Peninsula in North Devon.
